Looking for unusual entertainment for your wedding, meeting, fundraiser, or other event? Need to add some artistic flair to your period play? Want some authentic flavor for your madrigal/medieval/boar’s head feast? Consider offering the unique experience of dancing in the styles of Renaissance Europe! Absolutely no experience necessary! For most dances, if you can walk, you can enjoy renaissance dancing!

Unlike today’s hi-tech world, people in the middle ages made their own fun…and music and dance was a primary resource for entertainment and socializing.  Aspects of these dances live on today in line dances, square dances and folk dances.

Holly Matson
arrives in period costume as Lady Hawise, Dance Instructor, to teach groups of six or more the basic and intermediate dance steps and choreography of England, France and Italy.  From the simplest circle dances to the more complex court dances, Holly’s easy-going and humorous presentation demonstrates “step-by-step” (pun intended) choreography. Holly provides needed period music and, depending on the venue, a cd player.  A simple guidebook and music resource suggestions are provided for further practice. Holly has taught dancing to the cast of the Great Lakes Medieval Fair and has taught for many years in a living history group…let her teach YOU the dancing styles of the renaissance!

Music selections include dance tunes performed by performers that specialize in music of the middle ages: Wolgemut, Owain Phyfe, Cantiga and more.

Cost vary depending on your specific needs, whether by the hour or by the day.  For information, pricing and scheduling, contact Holly at (330) 835-3876 or Holly@LightseedsOffice.com.
